Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

You can get started by taking the New Participant Sign Up survey! This survey is an opportunity for you to tell us about your interests, the technology you use, and some basic demographic information. We use this information to match you with studies that will be the most relevant for you. We'll periodically reach out to you with studies that may be of interest to you.
Don’t count yourself out! We look for feedback from people from all walks of life and demographics. Whether you use Windows or Mac, smartphones or flip phones, paper or digital, we need your help to create the best products we can.
Yes! We often have studies looking for feedback from kids. The legal parent or guardian will have to sign up a child if they are under 13, otherwise they can signup themselves. Some restrictions may apply when signing up a minor or when a minor is participating, but we'll walk you through it!
You can see studies on our Active Studies page. We also share active studies on our social media pages, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to stay up to date.
Great question!
  • Surveys are where you answer a few questions to see if you're a good match for the study or panel. Think of surveys as the entry point to any study or panel.
  • A study is what you participate in after you have completed the survey and it is determined that you will be a good match. Study examples include giving feedback remotely via Skype or Microsoft Teams, participating in an in-person focus group, or visiting the researcher for a one-on-one interview.
  • A panel is a community of people who participate in a number of related studies under one umbrella. These typically last between three months and a year. If you join a panel, you're part of a community who will be invited to participate in the studies under this umbrella. You may participate in as many or as few studies as you'd like during this time. You can choose to opt out of the panel at any time.
All of us use technology in our day-to-day lives. Why not take the opportunity to share your thoughts with the people who create it? Go behind the scenes with our researchers to give feedback on improvements for existing products, test exciting new and upcoming products, and influence the way technology shapes the future. Plus, as a thank you for your feedback, there’s typically an incentive. Check out the About Us page to learn more about Experis User Research Solutions!

Participation

The process starts with you taking a quick survey to see if you qualify for the study or panel of interest. Occasionally, we will need to reach out to ask a few additional questions or go over some of the details of the study over the phone. If it is determined that the study would be a good use of your time and you are selected to participate, you can expect to hear from us in order to select a session that works for you. Once your session is selected, you will receive an email with the study details. This email will contain directions, information on the researcher and the study, and will note anything you need to bring or complete before the session. During your study session, the researcher will guide you through the process. With all types of studies, there’s typically an incentive as a thank you for your time!
We’ll send you an email with information about where the study is being held and how to get there. If it's a remote study, the email will include a link to a Microsoft Teams or Skype call where you'll talk with the researcher.
You don't need to bring anything additional to your study unless specified by the researcher. Some studies have homework or may require you to use or bring equipment. Information will be included in the confirmation email we send you about study details.
If you require any adaptive or assistive technologies to participate in a research study (e.g. screen reader, audio induction loop, switch interface, service animal), please let us know. Sometimes this affects participation. We will always make an effort to accommodate these needs.
Send an email to our coordinators at ursreminders@experis.com. We'll help reschedule or cancel your session.
Please don't. By coming to sessions while ill, you're exposing our researchers and everyone else in the space to those germs. If our researchers were to get sick, they won't be able to complete the studies they've worked so hard on and everyone else's sessions will have to be canceled. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please email our coordinators at  ursreminders@experis.com and we'll help you out.
It depends on your child's age. If they're 13 or younger, a parent or guardian must remain on site the entire time. If they are 14-17, they may be dropped off and picked up.
Due to the nature of the environment and the studies, we are unable to accommodate children who are not participating.
Some studies are looking for a very specific type of person, making it challenging at times to find the perfect match. Sometimes, it’s because we don’t have enough information about you in your profile. If you haven’t already, take the New Participant Signup survey here and complete every question so we have a good idea of your background and interests. The more questions you fill out, the more accurately we can match you to new study opportunities.
There are a few reasons this might be happening. The types of people we’re looking for vary significantly for each study. Often the researchers are looking to talk to a very particular kind of participant, whether that means familiarity with certain technologies, type of devices used, or number of hours played on a certain game.  Sometimes, it’s because we don’t have enough information about you in your profile. If you haven’t already, take the New Participant Signup survey here and complete every question so we have a good idea of your background and interests. Do you live outside of the Greater Seattle Area? Most of our studies are only available to those who live in the Greater Seattle Area, although we do have studies that can be completed remotely.
We ask that participants wait 90 days between each study in order to give others the opportunity to give feedback.
If you would like to unsubscribe from the Experis User Research Solutions program you may do so by taking the Unsubscribe survey. If you wish to unsubscribe from the SMS messaging, text STOP to 484-679-4212. Please allow up to 30 days to be completely unsubscribed.

Incentive

The type of incentive will vary from study to study, but we'll let you know what the incentive is in our invitation to join the study. Most studies will be a digital gift card, but we do offer sweepstakes or physical gift cards from time to time.
This depends on the type of incentive offered for each study, but digital gift cards will be emailed to your email address on file after your participation has been confirmed with the researcher.
Incentives are delivered within 2 weeks following your completed session. If you experience any issues redeeming your incentive, please refer to the email that was sent with your Claim Code - there are links to help you there. If it has been over 14 business days since your session and you still have not received your incentive, please send us a message via our Contact page or reach out via email to ursconnects@experis.com.
If you received a digital gift card as incentive, please refer to the instructions included in the email that was sent with your Claim Code.
We can only offer the type of incentive originally offered in our invitation to join the study.
